 History 

The B.C. Stitchers Chapter is a member of The  Embroiderer's Guild of America, Inc. founded in 1958.  B.C. Stitchers, a member of the Mid-Eastern Region of EGA, was established in 1978 to serve the Southern Tier of New York.  The original chapter name was New York Susquehanna Country Chapter.  The name was changed in 2000, to the B.C. Stitchers when cartoonist Johnny Hart drew the logo for our use.

 Educational Services

 

    In an effort to keep our members informed and as up-to-date as possible in the field of needlearts, numerous individual and group correspondence courses are available from the national EGA, such as:

    Design and Color
    Hardanger
    Needle lace
    Needlepoint
    Quilting
    Silk and Metal
    Smocking
    Surface Stitchery

 

    You also have the opportunity to participate in the national master craftsman and teacher certification programs.
